What is a Clickbank Promo Site?

A Clickbank promo site is a website that promotes one particular Clickbank product by marketing directly on the Clickbank product name. This will allow us to try and get visitors to our website based on searches performed in Google for the product name. We will be tying to get visitors clicking through to our website who have already heard about the product and are looking around for more information. As they are searching for the product name we already know they are interested in it, so we have a higher chance of them buying.

You can use the following criteria to choose a Clickbank product to promote:

Clickbank Product Selection Criteria:

• High Gravity Product
• High Competition Niche
• Use the Clickbank Marketplace and order by Popularity or Gravity

Once you have found a few products that fit the above criteria from Clickbank, you will then need to use Market Samurai to do some research. We need to see how many people are searching for our keyword (which will be the product name), as well as do some research on the competition that there is online already (other websites promoting the same product using the product name as the keyword).

Market Samurai is a very comprehensive keyword research tool and will help you find high-profit, low-competition keywords and niche markets with ease. I highly recommend it for your keyword research! You can get a free trial of the software which includes:

I have found a product in Clickbank to promote called Legit Online Jobs. It has a high gravity in Clickbank of 160 and it’s in a high competition, highly searched for niche (make money online) . In Market Samurai I found that a lot of searches were performed for ‘legit online jobs’ for the broad match keyword and the SEO competition was also within reach.

Market Samurai SEO Competition Criteria:

• Lots of Green
• Low Page Rank websites
• Backlinks less than 200
• On-page SEO not done properly

Finding Your Domain Name

When you have found a product that matches the Clickbank and Market Samurai criteria you can use Bustaname to select a domain name with the keyword inside of the URL. The domain name that I have registered is LegitOnlineJobsSite.com. Is is ok to put another word on the end as long as you have the keyword in your domain name in the correct order.

Install the Super Affiliate Plugin & Start Making an Affiliate Website

Once you have registered your domain name you’re ready to start making an affiliate website using the Super Affiliate Plugin. You will need to upload the SAP using the ‘upload’ section in the admin area of your WordPress website after downloading the plugin from the Super Affiliate Plugin website.

During this webinar we cover what is CPA Marketing, how it works and who should use CPA marketing. We also look at some different CPA Networks and an easy way to find great offers. I also cover keyword research again for the CPA offer I’ve picked to run with (I show you how to use an excellent keyword research tool to do this). Then how to pick a domain name for the keywords you find during your research.

What is CPA Marketing?

CPA stands for Cost Per Action or Cost Per Acquisition. It is also sometimes referred to, as CPL (Cost Per Lead) marketing. In this type of marketing the affiliate gets paid for each action performed or each lead generated.

Examples of Different Types of CPA Offers

1. A free download (like a toolbar)
2. An email address submit
3. A short form fill
4. A long form fill (such as a survey)
5. A free trial
6. A subscription (a things such as a magazine, membership site or products like Pro Active skin care treatment where it’s sent every month or two)
7. A purchase (from an online store)

CPA Payout Amounts

The more action a user or customer has to take, the higher the payout! CPA offers can pay anywhere from $0.50 to $50! (or even higher in some cases).

A Rule to Remember With CPA Marketing

CPA = Resistance

ie: The more resistance, the lower your conversion rate will be.
So what is resistance?

• Credit card details
• Recurring payments
• Postage & handling
• Phone number

What Makes A Good CPA Marketing Network?

• High payouts
• Affiliate managers
• Emailing offers and specials to you every week
• Fraud/Click detection
• Clear terms and conditions on each of the offers
• Flexible tracking options
• Easy to use interface

All CPA marketing networks require you to be approved before you can start running offers. They will call you for a phone interview and you will need to be able to show examples of your previous internet marketing skills such as:

• Example websites
• Estimated revenue
• Estimates or proof of traffic
• Budgets for paid advertising
• Previous ROI on advertising

NeverBlue.com

NeverBlue is the best CPA marketing network (in my opinion) and runs many great CPA offers to promote. It ticks all the boxes when it comes to what makes a good CPA network as well! You can learn more about NeverBlue or become an affiliate at their website: NeverBlue.com.

How to Find CPA Offers

An excellent way of finding and comparing different CPA offers is to use Offervault.com. Offervault is owned by Mark Roth and is an aggregator of all affiliate/CPA offers from most networks around the world. It’s a great place to find offers in your niche as well as who is paying the best for similar offers.

Performing Keyword Research Using Market Samurai

I did my keyword research for the Smiley Central CPA offer that I found on NeverBlue using Market Samurai. During the webinar I show you how to use Market Samurai to do your keyword research.

These are the filters that I set when evaluating my niche/keyword:

The SEO Traffic (SEOT) filter is set to 80
The Phrase to Broad Match (PBR) filter is set to 15%
The SEO Competition (SEOC) filter is set to 30,000

SEOT = The maximum potential amount of clicks for the number 1 position keyword.
PBR = The percentage of phrase-match searches out of broad-match searches for the keyword.
SEOC = The total number of webpages globally that mention the keyword term in the same order.

We found that after 8 clicks on our ad we had made a sale earning us $26.35US. It cost just $3.66AU to make this sale. We then had a look at our Prosper202 tracking statistics to see exactly which keywords people were searching for to trigger our ad.

Using this information, we created a new adgroup that was targeted to the keyword using “phrase” and [exact] keyword matching, and created targeted ad text with the keyword used throughout the ad.

This brings us to the end of the Rocket-Piano-Review webinar series. I’ve decided to have a couple of weeks off from the webinars so that I can focus on finishing some outstanding projects and also create more training opportunities for you. We will begin the internet marketing training webinars again in October!

AdWords is run by Google and is a way of advertising your product or website to people who search for certain terms or keywords using Google. AdWords is a pay-per-click (PPC) advertising platform where you can run text ads, banner ads, mobile ads and even video and audio ads that can be targeted to either local, national and international traffic.

During this webinar I focused on showing you exactly how to setup a campaign using Google AdWords to run a text ad. Text ads are short advertisements that have one headline followed by two additional text lines and a website URL.

PPC AdWords ads are shown in the Google search results on the right hand side of the screen and are shown as “sponsored links”. An ad is shown when a person searches on www.google.com for the term that the advertiser has bid for. Advertisers can select words or phrases that should trigger their ads and the maximum amount they will pay per click. The ads are ordered depending on the amount other advertisers’ have bid and are willing to pay per click (PPC) and the “quality score” of all ads shown for the given search.

There are four different types of keyword matching options to determine which Google searches will trigger an ad to appear in the sponsored links. I also talked about tacking the exact keywords that users search on to trigger our ads. I used a self-hosted tacking solution called Prosper202 which is a little bit difficult to set up. When we can find out what keywords our customers are searching for to come to our website, this information can be very powerful in helping us to better optimise our AdWords campaigns and ultimately bring in more profit!

As well as having relevant content and keywords, another way that Google determines the PageRank of a web site is by the number of links to it (incoming links or BackLinks). It will look at how many other pages on the internet think that the web page is important. If the web page is linked to by many pages with a high PageRank it may also receive a high rank. It’s also important that the links coming from other web pages are relevant. ie: The web page providing the link should be in a similar niche. If there are no links to a web page then Google will see there is no support for that page and it will not receive a high PageRank.

We also talked about the highest PageRank sites on the web at present. There are only around 13 websites that receive a PageRank of 10 (as of April 2010).

I also released a new website that Julie and I have been building which we think you will find to be a useful tool, called MyMarketingLinks.com. My Marketing Links is a collection of thumbnail website images that link to that website.

I setup one of these pages for my last Internet Marketing Retreat and everyone found it very useful to use as their home page. It makes it easier to find the website you’re looking for when building your internet marketing/affiliate websites without trying to remember each and every domain name for all of the websites that you use. You may find it useful to set as your home page – then you’ll never have to search for that website domain again!

• The size of the image you upload does not matter.  It will automatically resize it to fit.  All you really need to worry about is that the side/spine image is the same height as the cover image so that it is all in proportion.

Another cool free tool we used was the thumbnail image generator, which automatically generates small images of a website for you.  It’s called Thumbalizr.com This can be used to place the image of the affiliate website you are promoting on your website so that the customer knows they will be directed to another website to purchase when they click on your link.

Next we cover what to do to offer bonuses to your customers for buying through your affiliate link and how you can send them to someone who has purchased by asking the customer to contact you via a contact form on your website with details about their purchase.  The contact form we used was a plugin for WordPress called Contact 7.

Well what a fantastic week we had on Stradbroke Island just off the Gold Coast of Australia at Couran Cove Island Resort.
